Falling crude oil prices are giving the Reserve Bank of India and other Asian central banks more headroom to prioritise growth, as easing energy costs reduce pressure on the region's external accounts, according to Standard Chartered's Weekly Market View report dated July 3, 2026.
The global bank described the oil price decline as offering "disinflationary relief" for monetary policy across much of Asia, though it said this relief would play out unevenly depending on each economy's energy dependence and inflation dynamics.
