Falkirk Council is to start charging for for pre-planning advice

Charges are to be introduced for advice on planning applications given by Falkirk Council staff before any formal application is made.

Members of Falkirk Council's executive agreed to bring in pre-planning application charges at a meeting on Tuesday.

Michael McGuinness, council head of growth, planning and climate change, assured members that the charges did not refer to general advice that was given to members of the public who are considering submitting an application.
