The Atlanta Falcons have taken linebacker Deion Jones off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and the former Pro-Bowler has returned to practice, team reporter Tori McElhaney reported on Wednesday.

Jones is Atlanta’s highest-paid player and was recovering from offseason shoulder surgery. The Falcons have signed and drafted a number of players at the ILB position, including free agent Rashaan Evans and rookie Troy Andersen, so some believe Jones is a likely trade candidate.
If the team holds onto Jones, he’s still one of the most talented players on the roster. The 27-year-old struggled in his first year under defensive coordinator Dean Pees, but perhaps better things are ahead for Jones in Year 2.
