The Atlanta Falcons’ 17-9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas Eve officially ended the team’s chances of winning the NFC South.
There was plenty of blame to go around following Saturday’s poor performance — from the officiating to the lack of success on third and fourth down — but ultimately, the Falcons just didn’t do enough to win.
Fans weren’t feeling very merry after the game. Here are the top Twitter reactions from Atlanta’s Week 16 loss to Baltimore.

Referee completely botched that grounding call. Falcons got completely jobbed: pic.twitter.com/SB2IHulFHJ

"Same ****, different year."
Grady Jarrett understandably frustrated after today's loss to the Ravens which, combined with the Panthers win against the Lions, eliminated the #Falcons from postseason contention. pic.twitter.com/jn4gQ30myS

It's early but I believe Ridder should get a full season as the starter with a healthy Pitts along with London to show what he can do. #patttakes

Significant improvement by Ridder this week but 0-4 in the red zone will get ya. https://t.co/b0rQ5qGmm6

Eight of the Falcons ten losses this year were in one score games.

Welp. Falcons were competitive against a more talented team once again.
Saw real growth from Ridder, and London bounced back after a bad fumble with a career high in rec yards.
Moral victories aren’t fun but they’re important during a rebuild.

Close game. Tough to keep stacking close losses, but Ridder looked wayyy better as the game went on so I genuienly don't really care.
Needs to come out and show some real upside vs Arizona after learning lessons against two tougher defenses.

Don’t know if this will be unpopular or not, but I really liked what I saw from Desmond Ridder today.
So far he’s showing me he’s got what it takes to, at the very least, get the starting nod for a full year in 2023.
He’s got what it takes to lead this #Falcons offense imo pic.twitter.com/6ZcaOMmylv

If Arthur Smith would have just started Desmond Ridder against Chicago, then Ridder would have been cooking in this game.

Ridder just needs some weapons around him and I think he will be our franchise Quarterback. With all the money to spend in free agency I hope we build a defense around Ridder. Lastly Terry Allgeier is the truth!

I'm all about Arthur Smith saying screw it during his postgame press conference, taking the fine, and going off on these two egregious calls that cost the Falcons points today. I would love to hear that.

Ridder looked good overall

Mariota had 3 games of over 200 yards for the Falcons in 13 starts. Ridder just went over 200 on his 2nd start. The switch should have been made at the Bears game.

Falcons absolutely got hosed on that call, PERFECT block in space. BAD as it gets there
