Former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith is set to visit with the Atlanta Falcons, according to a report from D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Smith, 26, has primarily played in the slot since being drafted by the Saints in the third-round of the 2018 NFL draft out of Central Florida. In 51 career games, Smith has totaled 112 catches, 1,486 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns.
Smith’s best season came in 2020 when he snagged a career-high 34 catches for 448 yards and four touchdowns.
Both the Falcons and Saints are believed to be finalists in trading for Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson. If Atlanta lands Watson, the team doesn’t have any reliable receivers to throw to other than Kyle Pitts, so landing someone like Smith would be a good start.
The Falcons will also reportedly meet with free agent Jarvis Landry, the former Pro Bowl receiver for the Browns. Stay up to date with all the latest Falcons free agency news and rumors, use our team tracker.
