The Atlanta Falcons have addressed the interior of their defensive line in free agency, but the team has yet to upgrade at defensive end. That may soon change, as NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo is reporting that the Falcons are planning to host free-agent defensive end Calais Campbell this week.
The #Falcons are planning to host veteran DL Calais Campbell on a free-agent visit this week, sources say. Campbell was recently released by the #Ravens, who kept the door open for his return. But in the meantime, the 15-year veteran will meet with Atlanta. pic.twitter.com/BdxUOBFSfx

Campbell, 36, is a former All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowler who spent the last three seasons as a member of the Baltimore Ravens. The former second-round pick spent the first nine years of his career with the Arizona Cardinals before spending three seasons in Jacksonville.
The former University of Miami star has racked up 99 sacks and 16 forced fumbles while appearing in 227 career games (208 starts). Campbell is obviously getting up there in age, but he’s still capable of playing at a high level.
In 2022, Campbell finished with six sacks and a Pro Football Focus grade of 77.2. At six-foot-eight, Campbell is someone who offenses would have to account for. This would open things up for Grady Jarrett, David Onyemata and others to get after opposing quarterbacks.
