The Atlanta Falcons have completed an interview with University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh for their head coach vacancy, the team announced on Tuesday evening.
Harbaugh just won the National Championship in his ninth season as head coach of the Wolverines. Before taking over at Michigan, Harbaugh served as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-2014, helping the team reach the Super Bowl in 2012.

Harbaugh is thought to be the favorite for the Chargers’ head coach opening, but a deal has yet to be reached between the two parties.
The Falcons had not previously been linked to Harbaugh, however, it’s easy to see why they would be interested. He has a 44-19-1 record as an NFL head coach and an 86-25 record at Michigan.
Harbaugh is the seventh candidate the team has spoken with so far. Others include former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and 49ers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.
