Falcons injury news: Safety ruled out for game with knee injury

The Atlanta Falcons suffered their first injury against the Carolina Panthers in the first half of Sunday’s NFC South matchup. Safety Micah Abernathy appeared to injure his knee just three minutes into the first quarter.

According to team reporter Tori McElhaney, Abernathy has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday’s contest. Atlanta will likely look to defensive backs Richie Grant and Kevin King to help fill in for Abernathy.

The Falcons and Panthers are tied up at seven early in the second quarter. Carolina got out to a 7-0 lead before running back Bijan Robinson rushed for an Atlanta touchdown to even the score.

Make sure to check out the team’s depth chart, injury report and depth chart for Week 6.
