Fake insurance claims cost UK £1 billion as travel fraud skyrockets

Insurance ABI

Insurers uncovered £1.34 billion in fraudulent claims in 2025, boosted by an 85 per cent annual rise in fake travel claims, according to the Association of British Insurers (ABI).

The total value of intercepted fraud rose by 14 per cent compared to £1.18 billion recorded the year before.
