Fake HSE Covid text scamming people out of money

An Garda Síochána are warning people of a new elaborate scam where fraudsters pretending to be from the HSE trick people into paying for PCR testing kits.

As part of this scam a person will receive a text message purporting to be from the HSE.

The text message states; “You have been in close contact with someone who has contracted the Omicron Variant.”
