The tension rises tonight as Joan meets her old friend Judge Cowhey to ask for Zak’s release but begins to lose her nerve.
When Judge Cowhey denies Joan’s request, Joan resorts to blackmailing him with an incriminating photo.
Judge Cowhey reluctantly gives into Joan’s demands and Joan informs Cian that he is in the clear, and gives him a mysterious box that she had been saving for Matthew.

And in exchange for Zak’s freedom, Dearbhla and Tommy begrudgingly make a pact.
Elsewhere, Carol tells a cynical James that Rafferty will miss him if he leaves Carrigstown. She then urges Rafferty to talk to James and show him that he cares.
Rafferty meets with James and offers him a job on the development site, with the condition that he pays back all of the money he owes to the investors.
But James lashes out at Carol, warning her to stop interfering in his strained relationship with his father.
Meanwhile, Sharon tells a dubious Hayley that she believes Dermot is a good person, but remains conflicted on whether to continue the friendship.
Sharon decides to hear Dermot out and arranges to meet up, lying to Hayley that she’s attending another group meeting.
Sharon meets with Dermot and decides to continue the friendship, content that he is remorseful for his past wrongdoings. But she feels guilty when she lies a second time to Hayley about spending the evening with Dermot.
