These are the faces of seven people banned from Liverpool city centre this year.
The offenders have been banned for numerous reasons including theft and assault. In each case Merseyside police have secured a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) against them.
CBOs are used to target the most persistent offenders who won't stop committing crime and causing anti-social behaviour despite being brought before a court. It means on top of their sentence, the individual also faces additional restrictions that can last for an indefinite period if they are adults, or for up to three years for under 18s.

In the cases set out below, the offenders have been banned from entering a defined geographical area and can be arrested simply for being in the city centre.
Maxine Hunter
Maxine Hunter, of Lester Close, Everton, was stopped by security guards in Williamson Square on January 22 who found several items from different stores in her bag. The woman became aggressive while being detained and assaulted one of the security staff.
She was charged with theft from a shop and assault. She pleaded guilty to both offences. At Liverpool Magistrates' Court on March 20, she was issued with a community service order and a Criminal Behaviour Order which bans her from entering the city centre.
The Criminal Behaviour Order prohibits her from entering the area bounded by and including Dale Street (Queensway) Water Street, The Strand, and including the junction with Liver Street on to Paradise Street to Hanover Street, Ranelagh Street, Renshaw Street, Copperas Hill, Lime Street, St George's Place, St John's Lane and Old Haymarket.
Ryan Kenny
Ryan Kenny was banned from Liverpool city centre by a court order in January this year after a spate of offending which also saw him sexually assault a young student, steal Toblerones from B&M and smash his way into Specsavers during a burglary. Despite this, he told a judge: "I'm going back to town whether you like it or not."
Kenny admitted sexual assault, assault, theft and burglary. Appearing via video link to HMP Altcourse, he was jailed for 28 months and handed a criminal behaviour order banning him from the city centre for three years.
Kenny will also be required to sign the sex offenders' register for 10 years. Sentencing, Judge David Swinnerton said: "This sexual assault wasn't motivated by you being some sort of sexual predator. You are someone who was drunk and a nuisance."
Gary Blower
Gary Blower was handed a three-year criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) which bans him from entering parts of town. The 52-year-old was issued with the CBO after he was caught stealing from Go Outdoors on Ranelagh Street.
Officers said on February 22 he was spotted putting several t-shirts into a shopping bag and attempting to leave. When challenged by staff, he handed over two items before making off with the rest.
Blower, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with theft. On Wednesday, April 5, he pleaded guilty at Liverpool Magistrates Court.
The CBO prohibits him from entering the area bounded by and including Dale Street, Water Street, The Strand, Strand Street, Upper Duke Street, Hope Street, Mount Pleasant, Clarence Street, Russell Street, Seymour Street, London Road and Lime Street.
Kenneth Cartwright
Kenneth Cartwright was handed a three year criminal behaviour order at court which will run until December 23, 2025. It means that police could arrest and jail the 36-year-old, of Falkner Street, Toxteth, if he visits areas such as Dale Street, The Strand and Duke Street and Liverpool ONE.
Cartwright attempted to steal from a parking meter in December 2022, causing damage that the council needs to repair. Police say it's estimated such offences create an estimated £100,000 of damage per year.
The full area he is not allowed to visit is bounded by and includes: Dale Street (Queensway) up to and including Water Street, The Strand, Strand Street, Liver Street; Paradise Street, Duke Street, Upper Duke Street, Berry Street, Leece Street, Renshaw Street, Brownlow Hill, Copperas Hill, Russel Street Seymour Street, London Road, Lime Street, St George's Place, St John's Lane and Old Haymarket.
Joseph Edward Cole
Joseph Edward Cole will not be able to visit the city centre for two years after being given a criminal behaviour order for theft. The 56-year-old, of Walton Lane, Anfield, received the ban at Liverpool magistrates court on Wednesday, March 29.
He pleaded guilty to theft from a shop after being caught stealing steak worth more than £180 from the Aldi store in St John’s Precinct on January 26. The order prohibits him from entering a large area around the city centre.
The area includes Dale Street (Queensway) up to and including Water Street, The Strand, Strand Street, Liver Street; Paradise Street, Duke Street, Upper Duke Street, Berry Street, Leece Street, Renshaw Street, Brownlow Hill, Copperas Hill, Russell Street, Seymour Street, London Road, Lime Street, St George's Place, St John's Lane and Old Haymarket.
Aaron Isherwood
Aaron Isherwood, 32, of no fixed abode, was issued the two-year Criminal Behaviour Order at Wirral Magistrates Court on Wednesday, January 11. The order came after he was caught stealing from B&M in Clayton Square on January 9.
The order stops him from entering the area bound by and including Dale Street (Queensway) up to and including Water Street, The Strand, Strand Street, Liver Street; Paradise Street, Duke Street, Upper Duke Street, Berry Street, Leece Street, Renshaw Street, Brownlow Hill, Copperas Hill, Russel Street Seymour Street, London Road, Lime Street, St George's Place, St John's Lane and Old Haymarket.
Nicholas Brennan
Nicholas Brennan has been issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order that prohibits him from touching any parking meters in the city after being convicted of theft. Brennan, 53 Years, of Fenwick Street in Liverpool city centre was given the order at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Tuesday, February 28.
Brennan was convicted of a recent theft from a parking meter in William Brown Street. The order stipulates that Brennan cannot touch or interfere with any parking meter anywhere in Liverpool for two years.
