Irish jobs could be at risk at Facebook's parent company Meta as more layoffs are expected to be announced today.
The social media firm, which owns Facebook and WhatsApp, is expected to inform staff on further job cuts later on Wednesday.
The layoffs on Wednesday are expected to impact the company's business groups however, is not yet known how many workers could be let go in this round of redundancies.

This comes after Meta also cut 11,000 jobs globally in November last year, resulting in the loss of 300 Irish jobs.
In November, Mark Zuckerberg informed the public that the company would reduce the size of the global workforce by about 13%, or 11,000 jobs.
Meta currently employs 2,600 people in Ireland.
In a Facebook post in March, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said 2023 this would be their “Year of Efficiency”.
He wrote: “This will be tough and there’s no way around that.
“It will mean saying goodbye to talented and passionate colleagues who have been part of our success. We will support people in the same ways we have before and treat everyone with the gratitude they deserve.”
