Facebook Down? Why are users reporting login failures and widespread access issues worldwide

Facebook faced a sudden outage on Sunday, leaving users across the globe struggling to log in and use essential features, as reported by Downdetector.

Why is Facebook down?

Many users reported being locked out of their accounts or experiencing issues while navigating the platform. Key features such as posting updates, uploading photos and videos, and accessing feeds were affected.

Additionally, some users were unable to send or receive messages through Facebook Messenger, further compounding the disruption.

Error Message Frustrates Users

Several users encountered a message stating: "Account Temporarily Unavailable. Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes."

This message appeared repeatedly, preventing normal access to accounts.

Multiple Countries Affected

The outage was not limited to one region. Reports of disruptions came in from countries including Canada, United Kingdom, India, and Türkiye, indicating a widespread global issue.

Mobile Access Works for Some Users

Interestingly, while desktop users faced significant issues, some individuals reported that the platform was still functioning on mobile devices, suggesting the problem may be limited to certain versions or access points of the service.
