Nottingham Forest face some heavyweight competition if they decide to go ahead with an offer for Monza left-back Carlos Augusto.
That’s according to transfer expert Farbrizio Romano who says Champions League finalists Inter Milan are keen on the defender and have made him a ‘concrete option’ on their list.
The 24 year old Brazilian could be available for £8m for Forest who, according the Daily Mail, have held discussions with Monza about him. The situation is further complicated by the fact his club want to keep him and have opened contract talks, but Inter’s involvement could overshadow all that.
Romano gave an update on social media, saying: “Inter are working on a potential move for Monza’s Brazilian left back Carlos Augusto. He’s a concrete option in the list. Nottingham Forest are also interested in Augusto but he is one of three names in the list.”

Augusto is an attacking full back but can also play at centre half. Forest boss Steve Cooper is building his squad for next season in the Premier League and will be able to sign players once the transfer window reopens on June 14.
Inter take on Manchester City in the Champions League final on Saturday evening in Istanbul.
