Tottenham look set to have an extremely busy final few days of the January transfer window, with at least two players being targeted by the north London club.
Spurs are interested in signing Porto attacker Luis Diaz, football.london understands, and have enquired about his availability ahead of a move this month.
According to recent reports, Tottenham have seen a £37.6million offer turned down by Porto. It is yet to be seen whether Spurs will make another move for Diaz, but he is said to have a £66million release clause in his contract at the Estadio do Dragao - which still has two-and-a-half years left to run.
A manager of Antonio Conte's pedigree will want the big-money transfers that Tottenham supporters are so desperate for, and this pursuit of Diaz is the perfect chance for Daniel Levy to make a statement of intent.
However, to do that, the Spurs owner may need to raise some funds to try and cover the gap between the reported offer (£37.6million) and the Colombian's apparent release clause (£66million) - which is just less than £30million.
To do that, there are a few players who are seemingly no longer part of the plans of Conte - Giovani Lo Celso, Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele.
Lo Celso, who was left out of the Tottenham squad for Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Chelsea, seems to be out of the picture at the north London club and has been linked with a move away.
The 25-year-old, who is valued at £19.8million, sees his contract expire in around three-and-a-half years, but could be offloaded if Spurs do indeed need funds to bring some new players in.
Likewise with Alli, who has struggled to show his best form at Tottenham for some time now, is valued at £22.5million, although a loan deal has been touted for the former England international.
Ndombele's future at Tottenham looks to be over. Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested in Spurs' record signing, valued at £34.2million, and at the moment, he perhaps looks the most likely out of the aforementioned trio to leave the club before this month's transfer deadline.
Either way, Tottenham are not short of options when it comes to raising funds to complete the signing of Diaz - who is very highly-rated around Europe - and significantly boost their chances of securing Champions League football next season.
