Fabio da Silva has revealed he initially found playing games for Manchester United in front of big crowds difficult.
Fabio developed into a fan favourite among supporters during his six-year spell at Old Trafford, in which he won multiple major honours, but his journey in Manchester began back in 2008 when he and his twin brother, Rafael, signed for the club.
The full-back would need one year to make his breakthrough and he made his full United debut in January 2009.
That match was against Tottenham in the FA Cup and Fabio has now reflected on how he felt before that debut.
Fabio admitted his brother did 'everything' to help with him his anxiousness while Sir Alex Ferguson also played his part.
"He [Rafael] really tried to do everything for me," Fabio da Silva told the United Podcast.
"To be honest, It was harder for me than for him. My brother is a guy who is the same on and off the pitch, he doesn't care about anything. I'm a little bit more open and closed in the same way. I'm a little bit more concerned and I don't like to do interviews.
"I'm a shy guy. To play at Old Trafford was hard for me, I'm not going to lie. He [Sir Alex Ferguson] knew it was a difficult time for me, he knew it was hard because I was very nervous about games, about everything and very anxious.
"These days, I'm completely changed, when you get older, it's easier."
