Fabio Carvalho just gave Liverpool fans a stunning glimpse of what to expect

New Liverpool signing Fabio Carvalho has offered another glimpse of what supporters can expect when he formally joins the club next month.

The 19-year-old will join up with his teammates on July 1, ahead of preseason training a few days later. Carvalho is currently on international duty with Portugal's under-21s and put in a fine display against Belarus.

They beat their opponents 5-1 on the day and the new Liverpool man was integral in the build up to their first and third goal. Their first was scored by Fabio Vieira, but it was Carvalho's determination and pressing that won them possession in a dangerous area before he laid it off to Goncalo Ramos, who bagged the assist.

Their third of the day came 10 minutes into the second half, smart play and good footwork from the teenager resulted in him being brought down in the box to win a penalty for his side. He was then brought off with one eye on their upcoming matches against Liechtenstein and Greece in the coming weeks.

Given links first emerged in the January transfer window and Liverpool narrowly missed out on securing a deal on deadline day, all eyes were on Carvalho for the second half of the season. He played an integral role in Fulham's promotion push, securing top flight football next term.

He scored an impressive 11 goals in all competitions, with eight assists in the Championship. His versatility to play in the front three, as well as in a midfield role may see him get first-team minutes next season as he pushes for a regular starting place.

At the age of 19, he will benefit from the more senior players around him, as well as his former Fulham teammate Harvey Elliott. Also 19, Elliott joined Liverpool from the London club in 2019 and has already started forcing his way into Jurgen Klopp's plans. The England youth international praised Carvalho and says he's excited to see what he can bring to Liverpool next season.

"He's got everything in him, every attribute you can think of, and that's why Liverpool have signed him," Elliott said in a recent interview with the ECHO. "So I am very excited to see what he can bring to this team as well as all the fans and I am sure he will show them very quickly."

The expectation, according to reports, is that Carvalho will slot into the first-team setup - and pre-season will no doubt offer a chance to show more of what he'll bring to the side. Liverpool will fly out to the far east this year with games against Manchester United and Crystal Palace in Thailand and Singapore.
