Fabinho reveals secret behind goalscoring run and shares Liverpool 'legend' aim

Fabinho has revealed the secrets behind his new-found goalscoring form after getting on the scoresheet in five of his previous eight Liverpool appearances.

The Brazil international kick-started this impressive streak by bagging a brace in a 4-1 FA Cup win over Cardiff City last month and has since breached the backlines of Brentford, Crystal Palace and Burnley.

A theme of Fabinho's goals has been appearing in the right place at the right time in set-piece situations, having reacted quickest to loose balls from corners.

Named the Reds' Player of the Month for January as a result of his impressive displays, the 28-year-old already has more league strikes to his name this season (4) than in his three previous Premier League campaigns combined (3).

The former Monaco man has now opened up on his impressive form, detailing how he has been able to get into the right positions within the opposition penalty area.

“Usually I am the last man in the protection but now I have the opportunity to be more often in the box in the set-pieces and I try to always do different movements," he told liverpoolfc.com.

“Sometimes I go out for the players and be alive in the box because sometimes even if you don’t win the first ball, the second ball can come to you and you can score.

“And when you score goals you are always confident that the ball will come to you. So yes I try to chase the ball, be alive and score goals.

"I think I am in really good form in the moment but I’ve been playing like this for a long time, but when you score goals people start to talk a little bit more about you.

"But yeah, it’s nice. I just want to keep playing, keep feeling good physically and keep helping the team."

Fabinho marked his 150th appearance for the club during Wednesday's away win at Inter Milan and is now hoping to create more history at Anfield.

"It’s a really special number to achieve with a big shirt like the Liverpool shirt," he said of this milestone.

"I want to keep playing even more – 200, 250 [games] because playing for Liverpool is really special and I want to be in the history of this club and hopefully be a legend in the future."
