The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand said an airworthiness directive (AD) issued by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for structural investigations of Boeing 737 MAX planes does not affect the 12 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft based in Thailand.
The CAAT said on Monday the FAA ordered the examination of the forward right-hand service door frames of Boeing 737 MAX 8, MAX 9 and MAX 8-200 planes after cracks were found on some of those models operated by other countries.
According to the CAAT, there are 12 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft based in Thailand, but they are not on the list targetted by the FAA.
Therefore, the 12 planes in Thailand could continue operations without extra checks, the statement said.
