The latest Ezri Konsa injury update confirms that the Aston Villa defender trained separately from the England squad on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s clash with the Republic Of Ireland at Wembley.
Ezri Konsa Injury Update: Villa Defender Trains Away From England Squad
Konsa had to come off during England’s 3-0 win over Greece on Thursday with a hip injury.
At first, it feared that he could be come the 10th player to withdraw from the squad. However, he hasn’t left the camp, instead taking part in a solo session on Saturday lunch-time.
The 27-year-old has been key in Villa’s strong start to the season, making 15 appearances so far. Luckily for Unai Emery though, Konsa should be fully recovered in time for their clash with Crystal Palace next weekend.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Aaron Ramsdale, Levi Colwill, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Jarrad Branthwaite were casualties earlier on this week. Unhappy with the withdrawals, Harry Kane called out his teammates. The Bayern Munich forward said: “I think England comes before anything. England comes before club, it is the most important thing as a professional footballer.” Then asked about teammates withdrawing, Kane added: “I don’t really like it if I’m totally honest. England comes before anything and any club situation.”
Despite Lee Carsley missing several senior players, the Three Lions made light work of Greece on Thursday night.
Ollie Watkins opened the scoring in the first half, before an own goal from goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos made it 2-0. Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones then topped off a professional performance with a great goal, making it 3-0.
Sunday’s meeting with Ireland will be Carsley’s last in the hot seat before Thomas Tuchel takes over in January.
Victory on Sunday evening will ensure England will be promoted to League A of the Nations League. With that looking likely, Tuchel’s first games in charge of the side will either be World Cup qualifiers or friendlies.
