Severe weather is expected to hit parts of the UK as forecasters issue a yellow weather warning which will bring lightning and heavy snow to millions.
The severe weather began late yesterday afternoon (January 23) and is expected is expected to reach its peak today with widespread wintry weather.
The Met Office issued a rare yellow warning for snow and lightning which was forecast to hot most of west Scotland and large parts of Northern Ireland until 8pm today.
