Lindsay Clancy's ex-husband has described the prospect of a retrial as 'extraordinarily painful' after the murder case over the deaths of their three children ended in a mistrial in Massachusetts on Friday, September 4.

Patrick Clancy said through his lawyer that he was grateful to the court and jurors, while prosecutors have yet to decide whether they will seek a new trial.
