Extra police powers in place after incident involving people armed with swords

An order granting additional police powers has been enacted in Reading following a “public order incident” involving a group of people armed with samurai swords and machetes.

Thames Valley Police said at 3am on Friday officers were made aware of a group of people with weapons involved in disorder in the area of Regents Street.
