An Australian Olympic boxer is expected to plead guilty over a Victorian brawl after the prosecution dropped a more serious charge of extortion.
Jason Eric Whateley, 31, on Monday indicated to Melbourne Magistrates Court he would accept the plea deal.
Whateley committed an affray in Kinglake on September 11, 2020, charge sheets released to AAP say.
He's also accused of using a carriage service to harass on August 30 last year.
Whateley is applying to have his plea heard in the magistrates court rather than in the County Court.
His application will be heard in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Whateley won a silver medal in the heavyweight boxing division at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
He also represented Australia at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Since turning professional he was won all his nine bouts.
