Exploding batteries spark probe to stop deadly cost

Exploding e-bike and e-scooter batteries emitting "jet-like flames" and toxic fumes pose an increasingly lethal danger, a probe after a series of fire deaths has heard.

An inquiry into the dangers of lithium-ion batteries is under way before NSW coroner Kasey Pearce following three fatal incidents in the state and countless fires attributed to exploding batteries.
