During the summer months, there is almost always an excuse to drink more socially with friends and family members than during colder seasons. Evenings staying lighter for longer, the pressure to make the most of the warm weather and the tendency for more events to take place during summer months all add up to adults generally consuming more units of alcohol in an average week.

Addiction specialists from Private Rehab Clinic Delamere have compiled a list of common signs that individuals worried about either their own drinking habits or those of a loved one can look out for. A functioning alcoholic is a person who suffers from alcoholism but is still able to hold down a job, play a role within a family and to most people, appear to be coping.
