Sugar prices on Tuesday settled lower and posted 1-1/2 week lows. Over the past week, expectations for a global sugar surplus have weighed on prices. Last Wednesday, consultant Datagro projected a 2025/26 global sugar surplus of +1.53 MMT, recovering sharply from a 2024/25 global sugar deficit of -4.67 MMT. Meanwhile, StoneX projects a 2025/26 global sugar surplus of +3.74 MMT.
