Former couple Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt have been looking back on their past engagement and confessing their love for each other in the present day.
The Hollywood exes told each other they loved each other during a recent chat together to promote Brad's new cashmere line, God's True Cashmere, via Gwyneth's infamous wellness brand, Goop.
Thanks to her business describing her ex's fashion venture as a 'perfect gift' for Father's Day, Gwyneth's late father Bruce Paltrow came up in conversation at one point - with Brad reminiscing over the close bond he shared with his former fiancée's beloved father.
Gwyneth and Brad hit it off romantically in 1994 after playing a married couple in the hit movie Se7en.
They got engaged in 1996 but called it quits the following year - with the actress going on to marry Coldplay star Chris Martin in 2003, and Brad tying the knot with Friends star Jennifer Aniston in 2000 and then Angelina Jolie in 2014.
Bringing up her father during the chat with her ex, Oscar winner Gwyneth said: "Okay, since it's almost Father's Day, I'm going to ask you about Bruce.
"I'll never forget when we were engaged and he came to me one day, his eyes full of tears, and he said, 'You know, I never really realized what they mean when they say you're gaining a son. Like, I'm gaining a son.'
She then asks the Fight Club actor: "What impact did he have on you? Why did you love him, even though we didn't get married, unfortunately."
Laughing, Brad replied: "Yeah, right. Oh man, everything works out, doesn't it?"
Following her split with Chris - with whom she shares two children with - Gwyneth walked down the aisle once again in 2018 to marry Brad Falchuk.
Noting her current husband shares the same name as her one-time fiance, the Goop founder replied: "Yes, it does. I finally found the Brad I was supposed to marry. It just took me 20 years.'
"And it's lovely to have you as a friend now," Brad hit back with, sweetly adding: "And I do love you."
The feeling was mutual, with the actress replying: "Love you so much."
Brad - who shares six children with second ex-wife Angelina - recalled how Gwyneth's late film director dad influenced his journey into fatherhood.
"One of the many things I loved about Bruce - because he did have a profound effect on me and is someone I still think about - was he really fostered your voice, your independence," the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star told his ex during their chat.
"He carved the way for you guys to be who you are. And I think that’s so important to parenting, you know? So the child is free to find out who they are and what they love and what they don't."
Elsewhere in the interview, Brad revealed it was actually Gwyneth's father that first introduced him to cashmere - inspiring him to go on to launch his own line with business partner Sat Hari Khalsa.
While Bruce may not be around to sample any of Brad's goods - passing away in 2002 - Gwyneth's mother has been lucky enough to experience one of the actor's creations.
"I'm a full customer and a major fan," Gwyneth gushed to Brad when discussing God's True Cashmere.
"I gave one to my mom for Mother's Day, and she loved it so much. She was like, 'Oh, Gwynnie, this is like a warm hug - I'm never taking it off'."
