EXCLUSIVE: WWE star Bayley shuts down tension rumors with Money in the Bank winner Iyo Sky

WWE star Bayley emphatically cleared up any rumours of tension between her and Damage CTRL member Iyo Sky.

Along with Dakota Kai, the trio shook things up when they appeared at SummerSlam last July to confront Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch. Since then the group has dominated the tag team division for long periods, with Sky and Kai winning the straps on two separate occasions.

However, there has been some tension building since Sky won the right to challenge Belair for the Raw Women's Championship at Backlash in May and Bayley's interference cost her the match. While all does not appear to be well between the two, during an exclusive chat with Mirror Sport, Bayley shut down any rumours of a rift in the Damage CTRL ranks.

"Let me just stop you right there," the former champion began. "We all have these best friends who are like family that we grow up with and you guys have differences and you butt heads and that's because you love each other so much and you know each other so well.

"Of course there are some bumps in the road but that's because there's so much love there. These little bumps in the road that you think are the downfall of Damage CTRL you're wrong. We had a long zoom meeting with Dakota Kai and we're all on the same page."

Both Bayley and Sky qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder that took place at London's O2 Arena on July 1. It was clearly every woman for herself as the former winner of the briefcase tipped her teammate off the ladder as she was climbing to glory.

But Sky would get her revenge as she cleverly used a pair of handcuffs to bind Bayley and Lynch to each other at the bottom of a ladder, and climbed over them to retrieve the briefcase, which was greeted with thunderous cheers. Even at the Money in the Bank post-show press conference, Bayley, who looked very happy to steal some of her Sky's thunder, joined Sky to speak to the media and the pair once again claimed there were no issues between them.

“We won. We are Damage CTRL. This is our briefcase," Sky said, before Bayley added: "There’s no tension right here. We’re good. We won, we did what we said we were going to do.”

Ever since Bayley has been performing in the UK, regardless of her persona she has received great support from the British audience, and was serenaded with a rendition of the hit 'Hey Baby' by DJ Ötzi, with the word baby replaced with her name.

"I would say that they're way more excited than I am, they love to sing to me. It's a different feeling, it's a lot of fun and I know it's a little unpredictable when I come here compared to the States," she said. "At least I'm respected out here compared to the States."
