In Uttarakhand’s Jhabrera constituency, 35 people listed as applicants in 1,657 objections to the draft electoral roll say they never filed them and that their identities were misused. Most of the voters targeted were Muslim.
In affidavits submitted to the Haridwar district administration on August 18 and 19, each of the 35 said an “unknown person” used their name, EPIC number and a forged signature to file Form 7 applications – which are requests seeking the deletion of voters.
