After dating for more than a year, actress Bhumika Gurung, best known as TV’s Nimki Mukhiya, tied the knot with Mahhi Vij's cousin brother restaurateur Shekhar Malhotra in Mumbai yesterday morning. It was an intimate ceremony attended by their families and close friends.
Just before her nuptials, Bhumika spoke to us and said that this is what she had always wanted. She said, “I am super exhausted and tired, but I love this feeling. We were both waiting for this day to come! A month ago, we decided that we should get married in March and here we are. Like every girl, I also dreamt a lot about how my wedding would be and it really was everything I wanted it to be.”
Talking about Shekhar, she said, “Shekhar was so excited. He has been jumping around and managing stuff. On our sangeet, he danced till he dropped!”
She said that she wouldn’t have imagined getting better in-laws than Shekhar’s family. “The family that I am getting into is very loving. The way they have accepted me and welcomed me in their lives is heart-warming. They make me feel like their daughter,” she said.
The bride and groom were dressed in a colour-coordinated outfits on their big day. So, how did she zero in on this one? “I had a lot of ideas about my outfit. But when I went to this designer’s store and saw this lehenga, I felt that this was waiting for me. It just fell into place,” she shared.
