Exclusive! Aishwarya Sharma quits Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, says it’s time to explore new opportunities

It’s time for one of the principal cast members to bid adieu to Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin (GHKPM). After being a part of the family drama for two-and-a-half years, Aishwarya Sharma, who plays Pakhi in GHKPM, has decided to move on. The actress confirms the news and says, “Just like all good things, even my association with the show has come to an end. While Pakhi’s journey has ended, Aishwarya is taking a bag full of memories with her because this show has given me almost everything. I feel indebted to GHKPM, as it has given me more than I had expected. I feel it’s time to explore new opportunities.”

Quitting a show after being a part of it for a couple of years isn’t easy. However, Aishwarya has had no apprehensions about her decision. She says, “Nothing remains forever. Besides, an artiste has to keep trying different and challenging characters.”

With her character Pakhi fluctuating from positive to negative, the actress has experienced mixed feedback on social media. Did the trolling ever affect her? “It bothered me initially, but eventually, I realised it was part of the process. When audiences establish a connection with a character, they don’t want her to be morally wrong. However, we are portraying the writer’s imagination. So, I began concentrating only on my work and drowned out all the noise. It depends on us what we want to focus on,” she replies.

As she moves on, she will cherish the memories created on GHKPM. She met and fell in love with Neil Bhatt on its set. They got married in November 2021. She says, “I will definitely miss shooting with my favourite co-actor and my husband Neil (Bhatt) the most. I don’t know whether I will ever get to work with him again. We share a deep understanding as co-actors. Yeh show mere liye hi bana tha because I got the most precious thing of my life – my life partner Neil. I am grateful to my producers and the unit of the show.”
