Billy Connolly exhibition to open at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum

KELVINGROVE Art Gallery and Museum has announced that its next major exhibition will focus on Billy Connolly.

The Glasgow venue has confirmed that Billy Connolly’s Big Wee Exhibition will take place in 2027, with tickets due to go on sale early next year.

The announcement follows Kelvingrove’s current staging of Barbie: The Exhibition, which is running from June 13 to October 18, 2026.

In a video shared as part of the announcement, Connolly said: "Glasgow Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is having a special exhibition about my life, my times, my clothes, my comedy and you're very welcome to come along and have a laugh.

"It's the most extraordinary place, and it's a very dear place in my heart. When I think of it, I think of Salvador Dali and then how you can arrive at Billy Connolly from that I don't know. If you're bored with it, there's a special restaurant there which has the best chips in town.

"Be my guest. Come along."

Connolly has longstanding links to Kelvingrove and earlier this year became the voice of a personal audio tour for the museum, guiding visitors through some of his favourite objects and memories of Glasgow.

The exhibition is expected to be a major draw in his home city, following the success of Kelvingrove’s current blockbuster programming.
