Leeds United are just £4m off meeting Paris Saint Germain's asking price for starlet striker Arnaud Kalimuendo.
A £17m offer was said to have been made by the Whites for the PSG striker back in June and if reports in France are to be believed, Leeds won't have to do too much to have a bid for Kalimuendo accepted.
The 20-year-old has spent the last two seasons on loan at Lens, and impressed last term in Ligue 1 by bagging 12 goals in 32 appearances.
French outlet L'Equipe claim PSG have placed a £21m price tag on Kalimuendo, with the club keen to offload a number of players this summer. It should be noted PSG would almost certainly demand a buy-back clause to be included in any deal for the promising striker.

Plenty has changed at Elland Road however since Leeds' reported bid for Kalimuendo. While midfield maestro Kalvin Phillips has departed to join Manchester City, Leeds have added plenty of reinforcements during the transfer window.
The Whites have made a whopping six summer signings so far, with Ramus Kristensen, Brenden Aaronson, Marc Roca, Darko Gyabi, Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra all joining Leeds ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
Leeds still look set to lose Brazilian winger Raphinha this summer, which could provide a massive cash injection into the Whites coffers. That could be the difference between whether or not Leeds stump up the cash for Kalimuendo.
But, Leeds do still need to strengthen up front. While Patrick Bamford will likely be the main man for Jesse Marsch this season and youngster Joe Gelhardt impressed last term in a limit role, they need to add another forward to their squad.
That's where Kalimuendo could fit in. The 20-year-old has so far turned out for France at U16, U17, U18 and U21 level and has developed remarkably during his two seasons at Lens where he has been able to showcase his blistering pace.
"Arnaud Kalimuendo has now played 30 more games. This allows him to develop in every aspect," Lens boss Franck Haise told Ligue 1's official website.
"The Kali in a year or five years will be another player. Every minute, every goal scored or not scored brings him things. He's progressed well during these two seasons in Lens."
£21m is a lot to spend on a 20-year-old striker. Leeds are likely to have the funds to spend on Kalimuendo in the event Raphinha does eventually leave Elland Road for one of either Barcelona or Chelsea this summer.
They must therefore weigh-up whether or not to spend a significant outlay on a player who is still developing. There's no doubt Kalimuendo has bags of potential.
But, would it be more financially prudent to look at options who are more familiar with the Premier League? Leeds' business so far this summer would suggest they'd rather explore the European market over the domestic one.
Kalimuendo could be an interesting name to look out for as the Premier League season draws closer.
