Exact times Scottish homes could be hit by 'worst case' blackouts this winter

A new batch of documents from the UK Government has detailed their plans if there is a gas supply shortage over the winter.

The worst case scenario was presented in a report last month, that forecasted that UK households would face three-hour-long power cuts, reports InYourArea. The planned blackouts would most likely occur on weekday evenings in January and February - particularly when it is cold.

The documents, that were created before the energy crisis, show which households would be hit by power cuts, and when this would happen. However, the National Grid ESO has insisted that it is "unlikely" that the UK will run out of power.
