Jet2 and Jet2Holidays have today announced an expansion of travel routes with as many as 54 weekly flights from Liverpool John Lennon Airport from next year.
In their first summer of operations from Liverpool, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will operate flights to Spain, Greece, Turkey, and other countries.
The news comes after passengers flying from Liverpool passed through security in just 12 minutes on average last summer, and the airport had more on time departures than most other UK airports.

The company’s first summer programme will have 565,000 seats on sale. Seven of the destinations are exclusive to Jet2, as people cannot currently fly there from Liverpool.
These are: Gran Canaria, Menorca, Rhodes, Zante, Madeira, Paphos, and Bourgas in Bulgaria. The UK's largest tour operator has said its first flight from Liverpool will depart on March 28, 2024.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “We are absolutely delighted to be expanding our award-winning flights and holidays to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which becomes our 11th UK airport base.
"This announcement further expands our footprint and comes on the back of the enormous demand that we know is out there from customers and independent travel agents across Liverpool, Merseyside and the wider region. We have seen that demand really ramp up over the past couple of years, so we know there will be a fantastic response to this launch.
"We have seen time and time again how popular our product is when we bring it to new customers, and we look forward to showcasing our VIP customer service to holidaymakers from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and delighting them with our product.”
