Former Dragons prop Brok Harris played two games in one day for Western Province and DHL Stormers.
The 38-year-old had only just played in Stormers' Champions Cup victory over Harlequins when two hours later he came off the bench to pack down at tighthead for Western Province in the Currie Cup.
Harris left Welsh region Dragons in 2021 after seven seasons in Newport. He has since become an unofficial player-coach with United Rugby Championship side Stormers in his native South Africa. Coming in initially as a scrum consultant at the beginning of last season, he has since got the boots on again.
Stormers hosted Quins at Cape Town Stadium at 4pm and booked themselves a place in the quarter-finals of Europe's elite competition with a 32-28 win. Harris came on as a replacement loosehead during the match.
Then, despite not being named in the initial line-up, the veteran featured as a replacement on the hour mark for Western Province in the Currie Cup at the same venue, with that game kicking off at 7.15pm. However the Griquas would go on to defeat Western Province 32-13.
Harris has explained he is loving the combination of playing at coaching with the Stormers, previously telling Planet Rugby: "That was always my intention… When I eventually finish playing, I will definitely try to go into the coaching side of it. That’s the plan, and it’s actually nice to have one foot in the coaching camp and one in the playing camp – I am really enjoying it at the moment."
It was his 250th appearance combined, for the Stormers and Western Province.
