David Nucifora, a World Cup-winning Wallaby, now looks poised to be a key weapon for the British & Irish Lions in their bid to topple Australia on their eagerly-awaited tour.
Queenslander Nucifora, who was part of the Australia squad that won the Cup in 1991 in England and has since had considerable success as Brumbies coach and performance director for Irish and Scottish rugby, will be announced as a key lieutenant for Lions' coach Andy Farrell, according to reports.
The 63-year-old former Test hooker has become a significant figure in British rugby, not just working with Englishman Farrell during his 10 years transforming the rugby scene in Ireland but also now helping boost the Scottish set-up in a similar performance role.
