Former Premier League referee Keith Hackett has said that he understands why players such as Michail Antonio wants to get rid of VAR.
West Ham were on the wrong end of a disallowed goal in their last Premier League outing against Chelsea, a 2-1 defeat after Antonio had given the Hammers the lead.
Goals from Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz then gave the Blues the lead and it seemed things would stay that way until Maxwel Cornet found the back of the net in the dying embers of the game.

However, referee Andy Madley was then sent to the monitor by VAR official Jarred Gillett to look at an apparent foul on goalkeeper Edouard Mendy by Jarrod Bowen and the effort was ruled out.
Antonio took to The Footballer’s Football Podcast to speak out against the decision which cost his side a point and on a weekend where a number of other decisions made due to VAR intervention were disputed, Hackett said that no-one can be happy with the implementation of VAR at the moment.
“Realistically, is anybody happy with VAR and how it works in England? They can’t be after last weekend," he told Football Insider.
“As I’ve said before, they have to get it right because they are not helping the game. For me, I can understand why clubs and managers and players want to get rid of VAR.
“I think VAR is here to stay. The only way it would change is if the board of directors of the Premier League, which is the 20 clubs, do something."
