Ex-Rangers star Alfredo Morelos handed brutal transfer advice

Alfredo Morelos has been urged to get back into the game at 'any level'.

The ex-Rangers striker is still on the hunt for a new club a little over two months after leaving Ibrox.

His contract expired at the beginning of June, as the Colombian forward departed Glasgow after six seasons.

During his time in a Light Blues shirt, the frontman was linked with a cluster of clubs from England, Spain, and other European countries.

Those links have died down over recent times, and he's still on the lookout for the next step in his career.

It seems he's still back in his homeland training alone to keep his fitness levels up while still a free agent.

And former Gers defender Alan Hutton has told Morelos to consider getting back into football at whatever level it takes in order to get back playing.

Asked if Morelos could wait until January before finding a new club, Hutton told Football Insider: “You can’t wait that long in football, especially now. If you miss out on pre-season, and the first games of the season – it sets you so far back.

“For someone like Morelos, it looks to me like he is someone who needs to be training every day. To maintain fitness, to maintain his levels – if he’s not training regularly, he struggles.

“He’ll have to consider everything, any level of football at this moment in time and get a club as soon as possible. He’s already missed so much football, and you can’t recreate that intensity of pre-season anyway else.

“It’s a real tough situation. He won’t be able to go in and play 90 minutes – he’ll have to do a mini pre-season on his own.”
