Former Rangers coach Dave Vos has been appointed as assistant manager of Ajax.
The Dutchman - who was part of Giovanni van Bronckhorst's backroom team at Ibrox - has taken the position on an interim basis.
Vos joined the Eredivisie giants as head coach of Jong Ajax - the youth side that plays in the second tier - but has stepped up to coach the first-team after manager Maurice Steijn stepped down.
Hedwiges Maduro was put in place as interim manager at Ajax with Vos to assist with first-team matters for the coming period.
A club statement read: "Hedwiges Maduro led the group of Ajax 1 players during the training session at sports complex De Toekomst.
"For the coming period, the 38-year-old succeeds Maurice Steijn, who left recently.
"Due to Steijn's departure and Maduro's new role, Dave Vos will temporarily take on the role of assistant coach of the first team.
"Yuri Rose will lead the Ajax U23 team during the match against Roda JC on Friday."
On Steijn's exit Ajax board member Jan van Halst said: "We have worked intensely and professionally together over the last few months. But the sportive successes and the development of the team were lacking. That is why we decided to sit down together again today.
"This time, Maurice also expressed his concerns on whether he was the right man in the right place. Together, we decided that it would be best to part ways. Hedwiges Maduro will do the honours for the coming period."
Steijn added: "This morning, I sat down with the board, and we continued our talks later this afternoon. We came to the conclusion that this is what is best for Ajax, although I regret that.
"Everyone who knows me knows I have done everything to take Ajax back to the place where this club belongs. But I failed to do so. I want to thank the supporters and the people I have worked with here, and I hope Ajax will find its way up again soon."
