Ex-Partick Thistle star dead at 35: Heart-felt tributes paid to tragic Adam Strachan

Tributes have been paid to former Partick Thistle midfielder Adam Strachan, who was yesterday tragically found dead, aged just 35.

Circumstances surrounding his death are not yet known.

Strachan started his senior career at Partick Thistle in 2004, and played for several clubs, including Albion Rovers, Clyde, Arbroath and Clydebank, before moving down the leagues to play for junior sides, and East Kilbride in the Lowland League.

The star had injury issues, and had a few court appearances to contend with.

But tributes paid to the 35-year-old said he was an incredible talent, who was misunderstood.

Striker Sean Winter, a former team-mate of his at East Kilbride, said on social media: "Can't believe the news I'm hearing about Adam Strachan.

"The guy was seriously misunderstood and one of the best players I ever played with."

David Winters, who also played with Strachan, said: "RIP my friend. Single-handedly the funniest boy I've ever met in football, also one of the most talented players I've ever had the pleasure to play with.

"Kind of guy who walks into a room and makes everyone smile.

"Rest easy, my brother. I will miss you."

Lowland League club Caledonian Braves said: "Saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Adam Strachan, who seemed to be loved by all who knew him. Thoughts with his family and friends."
