Ex On The Beach star Declan Doyle was left reeling after the "disgusting" behaviour from hotel staff whilst he was on a trip to the Dominican Republic with his daughter when they quizzed him on the 11-year-old's relation to him.
The 32-year-old regularly shares snaps of his daughter on social media, with pictures of the pair at various events and jetting off on luxurious trips across the globe on his Instagram page with his followers, the Mirror reports.
But the MTV reality star was left stunned whilst on his latest holiday when hotel staff approached him with very personal questions about their relationship as they had "different skin colours", even accusing them of "looking like a couple."
Declan then took to his Instagram page to share details of the troubling encounter, as he took aim at the hotel in a scathing message they both experienced in the hotel.
He fumed: "Disgusted by @riuhotels @tuiuk just had to prove my daughter is mine with our passports because we have ‘different skin colours."
He added: "Even though we gave our passports on check in, the hotel manager said she’s an underage girl with a man it’s odd and we look like a couple and we don’t look alike."
He explained how upsetting the situation was with the conversation shockingly happening in front of his young daughter. Declan also confirmed that holiday company TUI had moved them to another hotel following the complaints.
“I asked if he would do this if it was a single mum and her daughter and he said no,” he stated.
In a statement to The Sun, a spokesperson said they were “extremely sad” to hear about Declan’s experience, and they have “zero tolerance for discrimination”.
“We immediately moved them from their 4-star hotel to an alternative 5-star resort where support is available for them,” they added, stating that TUI is now “investigating the incident”.
Declan chatted with the publication about the disgraceful incident and explained how they asked to go to the manager's office whilst they were eating breakfast.
He recalled: "When we got in to see the manager there wasn’t even an apology, he was very hostile and said ‘can you give me your passports to prove she’s your daughter.
"He said he was watching hotel videos and we looked really odd and that she was an underage girl and I was an older man… I don’t know what he thought in his head."
The reality star said he had “never been treated like that before” at a hotel, and told the manager it was “disgraceful” he was being asked to prove he was the father of his daughter while she was in the same room.
"She doesn’t need to hear people questioning whether I’m her dad. She already knows we’re different skin colours but for it to be brought to her attention is sickening," Declan raged.
