NEW YORK — An Ex-Obama Official has lost his job after a racist rant that was recorded became public. The menacing racist, Stuart Seldowitz was a Deputy Director, U.S State Department’s Office of Israel and Palestinian Affairs from 1999 to 2003 under the Obama administration.
Seldowitz was caught on video hurling abusive slurs at a New York City food cart vendor in a video that was originally posted on Twitter by a user named Layla. The video quickly went viral, sparking outrage that has lead to Seldowitz’s dismissal from his job.
Gotham Government Relations, one of his former employers said in two tweets that it had “ended all affiliation” with him and added that he hadn’t worked there for years. However, journalist Matt Binder among others exposed a year old press release indicating that Seldowitz was set to join the same firm as a Foreign Affairs Chair.
Seldowitz’s use of Egyptian slurs and his invocation of the Mukhabarat intelligence service are not only harmful and offensive, but they also contribute to a climate of fear and intolerance.
“Will get your parents. Does his father like his fingernails? They will take them out one-by-one,” said Seldowitz in the video.
In the slightly over 2 minutes video, Seldowitz is captured by the vendor while inside his food cart hurling several bigoted and insulting slurs.
He later returned to where the vendor was and in addition to flashing him his lights, Seldowitz showed some sort of sticker to harass him. When the vendor eventually slid the window open, Seldowitz launched into a tirade against the vendor, calling him a “terrorist” and questioned his citizenship.
There has been an increase in hate speech and violence against people of both the Jewish and Muslim faiths since the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel.
