Ex-McDonald's employee says you should ALWAYS order an apple pie with a McFlurry

For decades, fast food fans have found ways to personalise their dining experience, whether that’s discovering a love for fries dipped in milkshakes, or customising orders to make ‘new’ burgers.

Over the past few months, Manchester Evening News have shared hacks to enhance your McDonald’s experience, including how to get a Mighty McMuffin all year round, to app deals that will get you money off your order.

But now, an ex-employee from the Golden Arches fast food chain has shared a groundbreaking dessert that’s sent McFlurry fans into a frenzy, the Mirror reports .

The former McDonald's worker shared their delicious DIY dessert to Reddit's 'foodhacks' forum, leaving fans amazed at the item that they reckon tastes "way better than any McFlurry".

The trick involves ordering two popular snacks and then enjoying the best of both worlds.

The poster wrote: "Order 1 apple pie, 1 caramel sundae, ask for the caramel sauce on the side so it doesn't melt the ice cream. Mix it together yourself and you got an apple pie McFlurry.

"Way better than any McFlurry. I hate when I get a watery McFlurry. Not with this. So good. You’re welcome."

But as devoted diners will know, McDonald's no longer sells sundaes in the UK. Thankfully, there is a workaround. Of course, you can simply order apple pie with a plain McFlurry, so you can enjoy the hot and cold soft serve treat that’s perfect for Christmas.

Alternatively, if you are desperate for extra sauce, you may be able to get your hands on caramel sauce if you're visiting a McDonald's that serves caramel iced frappes.

Apple pie mixed with ice cream sounds like the ultimate winter dessert in our books. Anyone fancy apple pie mixed with a Celebrations McFlurry?
