In-form Manchester United loanee Amad has added end product to his game while at Sunderland, according to his former Old Trafford coach Michael Carrick. Amad scored his sixth goal of the season at the weekend, scoring the Black Cats' second in the 2-0 win against Carrick's Middlesbrough at the Stadium of Light.
Carrick was part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Red Devils coaching team, and worked with Amad when he moved to the club two years ago. The Ivory Coast international spent time on loan at Scottish giants Rangers last season but it is his spell at Sunderland in the Championship this term that has seen him kick-on, and laid the groundwork for him to challenge for a first-team place when he returns to Manchester in the summer.
Carrick took over at Boro in October and had a ringside seat as Amad caused no end of problems for his side before eventually scoring the goal that killed off any hopes of a fightback by the ten-man Teessiders.

Carrick said of Amad: "He does what he does. He's really talented, Amad. Good in tight spaces and does what he does with the ball.
"For the goal, that's what he brings and I think that's what he's maybe brought a bit more is his end product from when I knew him when he was a little bit younger a couple of years ago. He's doing really well."
Carrick had already identified Amad as one of Sunderland's dangermen even before the game on Wearside. Speaking ahead of the game, he said: "I know Amad very well from United.
"He's a terrific footballer and seems to have jumped up a level again from the start of the season. His performances have improved and he is a threat.
"He's a talented player, really smooth on the ball and has a lovely feel for how he takes the ball. He's sharp, has injection and he sees space very well.
"Obviously I know him and have watched him very closely. He's not easy to stop because he's one of the better players."
