Mark Lawrenson expects West Ham United to boost their hopes of avoiding relegation this season with a win against Nottingham Forest.
The Hammers are 18th in the Premier League table one point adrift of safety heading into Saturday’s fixture against the Tricky Trees at the London Stadium.
Forest have exceeded expectations so far in their first top-flight campaign since 1998/99. Steve Cooper’s men are 13th in the table with 25 points after 23 games and are five points above the drop zone.

They will be heading to the capital full of confidence this weekend after managing to claim a point against champions Manchester City last Saturday.
Despite back-to-back top seven finishes in the last two seasons, pressure on West Ham boss David Moyes continues to mount up amid their struggles to get clear of the relegation battle. However, Lawrenson insists that the Scot has the full backing of the Hammers board and he expects West Ham to claim a 1-0 victory against Forest.
The former Liverpool defender told Paddy Power: “David Moyes is under pressure. I spoke to him the other day and he’s still got the confidence of the board. They’ve sacked him before and if they sack him again who are they going to go for? They’ll be looking for another David Moyes!
“Nottingham Forest obviously got a tremendous points against Manchester City when they could have been beaten about eight. They don’t know when they’re beaten but I’ll go for a narrow, nervy win for West Ham because they really, really need it.”
