RIFLE, Colo. (AP) — The ex-husband of U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert has pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment following altercations with his ex-wife and their son earlier this year, as per online court documents.
An incident in January at a local restaurant involving the congresswoman and Jayson Boebert resulted in charges of disorderly conduct, trespassing, and obstruction of a peace officer against Jayson Boebert. These charges were later dismissed as part of a plea deal, according to court records.
Shortly after the restaurant altercation, Jayson Boebert was involved in a physical altercation with his son, leading to the reckless endangerment charge to which he pleaded guilty. Three other charges — prohibited use of a weapon, harassment, and third-degree assault — were dismissed as part of the plea agreement, court documents indicate.
As part of the plea deal, Jayson Boebert will serve six months of unsupervised probation, as outlined in the court documents. He has not provided any comments in response to requests for statements at this time.
