Ex-Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn applauded for important reminder as she channels Sandy from Grease

Former Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn left fans doing a double take as she channelled Sandy Olsson from the classic film Grease. Sarah was the spitting image of Olivia Newton-John's iconic movie character in the end transformation scenes during which sweet-natured Sandy realises her self-confidence.

And Sarah, who left the Channel Four soap Hollyoaks last year after joining the subscription site OnlyFans known for its adult content, had chills as she posed for a snap on a balcony in London. "It wasn’t as warm as it looks," she captioned the photo shared on Instagram.

She added: "Cute having a little balcony in London though #fashion #london #empoweringwomen #whattowear #sandyvibes." The 40-year-old actress from Leigh looked sensational in skintight black trousers just like Sandy's. She teamed them with a red corset top with matching lip colour and animal print sandals.

Sarah, who played Mandy Richardson in Hollyoaks, wore her blonde tresses in waves. And her followers loved the look. nickhartley99 commented: "Olivia Newton John. "rachelrobson11 told her: "I'm getting Sandy vibes here. #outfit inspo xx" And cellblockian said: "Loving the ‘Sandy from Grease’ vibe!"

dawnmard applauded: "Stunning and this reminds me at being 40 this year we don't have to dress like frumps!" And rachelthomas.1 cheered: "Yaaaas."

Quoting from the 1978 film david_baker_007 said: "Look at me I'm Sandra D." bill.mcculloch.58 asked: "Are you auditioning for Grease, oh Sandy..." And jammie_7 exclaimed: “Sandy!!! Is that you."

Earlier this month Sarah teamed up with model Rhian Sugden to launch an X-rated podcast about 'sex, fetishes, roleplay' together. Former Page 3 girl and glamour model Rhian, 35, from Bury, reached out to Sarah following the controversy as the actress had to leave the Channel Four soap after joining OnlyFans.

The pair talk 'openly' and 'honestly' about taboo subjects on their programme, named Hot and Bothered. Sarah said about the podcast: "The last few months have been a whirlwind for me, in the best and most exciting way. I’ve been pushed out of my comfort zone, been made to make unexpected decisions, grown in confidence, started the journey to finding out who I am and what I want and I’ve met some incredible people, specifically women, along the way."

"I’ve found my voice and been given the freedom to have conversations I was too afraid to have previously, therefore this felt like a super natural progression, to help open up the more taboo conversations to others in our new Podcast 'Hot and Bothered'.'"

She said about her friendship with Rhian: "I met Rhian when she reached out to me amongst the controversy that last year brought, she was kind and supportive and we hit it off straight away. It seemed only natural to shoot together and we shared a lot of the same opinions and had so much in common that I knew she was the perfect co-host for the podcast."

Sarah, who was one of the long-running soap's biggest stars, was unable to 'reach a resolution' with bosses over her decision to join OnlyFans. The star, who played Mandy on and off since 1996, left in November in a disagreement over her OnlyFans acccount.

A Hollyoaks spokeswoman said that as a 'youth-facing drama with many young viewers' the soap does not allow any Hollyoaks cast members 'to be active on certain 18+ websites.'

They said the show had hoped she could remain in the role as mum Mandy but they 'respected' her choice to stay on OnlyFans. Sarah previously said that she was 'taking back control' by joining the website and using it to share her 'sexier' images.

And she explained the images shared on OnlyFans are 'no different' to the ones she had already posted on Instagram. "I just decided to switch them over to a different platform, put them somewhere that people who do want to see them can access them and and keep my Instagram more family-friendly," she told GB News.

"I was shocked at the decision and the way that it's gone. I'm not doing anything different to what I've done over the years. I'm not doing anything different to what I've been doing on on my Instagram account for the last four years that I've been back on the show. I've simply just moved the content. This is why I'm struggling to understand why it's become such a big issue for them."

She added: "Obviously OnlyFans has the association of being an over 18 platform, which makes it a safer space because a younger audience can't access it, even though the content I'm doing isn't over 18s. It's not explicit."

The mother-of-one, who has a five-year-old son Stanley, said about her decision to move some of her content onto a subscription platform: "A switch doesn’t just turn off your sexual prowess once you give birth, we are still fiercely powerful sexual women, even more so if anything because becoming a mother gives you a power and self worth like no other, when you realise just how incredible your body is!"

And she added: "STOP body shaming, mother shaming, woman shaming and let others live and do what THEY choose to do with their OWN bodies. It’s time to change the script."
